IOSH Working Safely is a one-day health and safety course for employees at any level, in any sector. It explains why safety matters, what hazards and risks are, and what each person can do to keep themselves and their colleagues safe. Delegates who pass receive an IOSH certificate.
Yes. We run it live online in a virtual classroom, with a real trainer, over one day, and it leads to the same IOSH certificate as the classroom course. For a group, we can also run it on-site at your premises anywhere in the UK.
IOSH certificates don’t expire, but IOSH recommends refresher training every three to five years, and sooner makes sense if someone changes role or the risks in their job change. A recent certificate also reassures clients and auditors.
It depends on the format: face-to-face from £149 + VAT, virtual on Microsoft Teams from £140 + VAT and e-learning from £60 + VAT, per delegate. For a team, we run it in-house at our venue or yours for an unbeatable price on request. Tell us your numbers and we’ll quote within one working day.
Course facts
Five modules, following the IOSH syllabus, delivered with everyday examples from the kind of work your people actually do.
Why health and safety matters to everyone: the human, legal and financial cost of getting it wrong.
The difference between a hazard and a risk, and how to judge how serious a risk is.
The hazards found in most workplaces, from slips and trips to manual handling, substances and fire.
How each person helps: reporting near misses, following procedures and speaking up when something isn’t right.
How everyday work affects the environment, and what everyone can do to reduce the impact.
IOSH Working Safely gives everyone in your organisation the same grounding in health and safety, in a single day.

Working Safely is for everyone. One day, no background needed, and it gives every employee a shared understanding of hazards, risks and their own part in keeping work safe.
Managing Safely is for the people in charge. Three days, aimed at managers and supervisors, covering how to assess and control risks, legal responsibilities and how to investigate incidents.
Many organisations do both: IOSH Managing Safely for team leaders, and Working Safely for everyone else. See all our IOSH courses or tell us about your team and we’ll recommend the right mix.
Same IOSH Working Safely certificate whichever you choose. In-house for your team, at our venue or yours: an unbeatable price on request.
“You did an amazing job delivering all the Working Safely courses. You kept everyone engaged throughout, and the feedback was that the training was both enjoyable and informative. Everyone passed.”
