BESPOKE TRAINING

Bespoke Training Programmes Built for Your Business, Not a Textbook

Bespoke training is a programme designed around your organisation: your industry, your terminology and your real challenges. We start with a training needs analysis or time with your team to find the gaps, then build a programme around what you choose, delivered face-to-face anywhere in the UK or virtually, including train-the-trainer so your experts can run it themselves.

The Short Answers

What is bespoke training?

Bespoke training is training built specifically for your organisation rather than bought off the shelf. The content, examples, exercises and case studies come from your industry, your processes and your people, so the learning transfers straight back to the job.

How do you design a bespoke programme?

We start with a training needs analysis, or time spent with your company, to find the gaps. Then we design a programme around what you choose, cherry-picking from around a dozen of our courses and condensing the key subjects to fit the time you have.

How long does it take to develop a bespoke programme?

Fully bespoke programmes usually take four to eight weeks from first briefing to delivery. If you’re working to a tight deadline, we’ll always be upfront about what’s realistic.

Can you train our people to deliver it themselves?

Yes. Our train-the-trainer programmes equip your internal experts to deliver the material confidently, so the programme keeps running after we step back.

Generic Training Gets Generic Results.

People tune out the moment a trainer uses an example that doesn’t apply to their work. If you want behaviour to change, the training has to mirror the reality of the job.

So we start by finding the gaps: a training needs analysis, or time with your people, your processes and your sites. Then you choose what matters most, and we design content, exercises and case studies your team will recognise as their own.

The bespoke process:

  • A training needs analysis to find the gaps
  • A programme built around what you choose
  • Real-world practice using your own systems
  • Measuring the impact after delivery

Common Bespoke Projects

From supervisor programmes and customer service to company-wide culture change.

Culture and Values

Aligning the whole organisation around its values and behaviours. Our flagship training, The Way We Work, is built for exactly this.

Niche Regulatory Training

Turning complex, industry-specific compliance into engaging learning.

Custom Sales Methodologies

A sales playbook based on what your top performers actually do.

Operating Procedures

Training staff on your operating procedures.

Customer Experience

Defining and training the exact service standard you want clients to receive.

Train-the-Trainer

Equipping your internal experts to deliver the programme themselves.

Conference-Ready Presentations

Supporting your key people and speakers with presentation skills training, and coaching them for their conference speech.

Example: A Two-Day Supervisor Programme

About ten key subjects, condensed to fit your time.

A typical bespoke request is a two-day course for supervisors or team leaders. Rather than send them on a string of separate courses, we cherry-pick from around a dozen of ours and condense about ten key subjects into two practical days, including:

  • roles and responsibilities
  • managing people
  • the HR essentials, such as interviews and disciplinaries
  • health and safety for the people they manage
  • motivation
  • accountability

The mix depends on what your training needs analysis shows. For managers further up, see our management training.

Our Signature Example: The Way We Work

The Way We Work is the programme we’re best known for. It’s an energetic, interactive conference, seminar or workshop that brings departments together, breaks down silos and connects your company values with everyday behaviour. Clients often brand it their own way, and it’s a natural starting point for culture change after a merger, takeover or rebrand.

Train-the-Trainer Programmes

The most sustainable way to roll training out across a business.

Your best people often know the subject inside out but have never been shown how to teach it. Train-the-trainer gives them the skills to plan sessions, hold a room, handle questions and check learning, using the programme we design together.

It works for technical skills, induction, product training and compliance topics. We can also add one-to-one coaching for your internal trainers.

Delivered Face-to-Face, Virtually or Blended

We deliver bespoke programmes face-to-face at your premises anywhere in the UK, virtually as live, trainer-led sessions on Microsoft Teams for spread-out teams, or as a blend with e-learning modules we can customise and add to your suite. Recent work includes a company-wide development programme for an award-winning care home; see our care sector training.

Find the gaps, design, deliver and measure.

  1. Training Needs Analysis

We spend time with your company, talk to your people and review your processes to find the gaps.

  3. Delivery

Energetic, practical sessions, face-to-face or virtual, delivered by experienced facilitators.

  4. Measurement

We track the measures you care about, with follow-ups at 30, 60 and 90 days.

Nautilus Care Home has worked with Better on Purpose (formerly Health and Safety Matters) for several years, delivering health and safety training, team building, professional development and service excellence training for our staff.

Last year, we invested in a company-wide development programme focused on strengthening teamwork, communication and the quality of care we provide to our residents. The training helped upskill our team, improve collaboration across departments, and reinforce a positive and supportive workplace culture. The learning was embedded into daily practice and contributed to Nautilus achieving both regional and national award recognition.

“I would highly recommend Better on Purpose to any organisation looking to achieve meaningful, lasting improvements in team performance, culture, and results.”

CLARITY

Bespoke Training: Common Questions

Can you design training for our specific industry?

Yes, and we’d recommend it. We’ve built programmes for clients in manufacturing, professional services, technology, finance, healthcare, retail and hospitality, as well as agriculture and care.

What is a training needs analysis?

It’s how we find the gaps before we design anything. We spend time with your company, talk to managers and staff, and look at how the work is done, so the programme fixes real problems rather than covering topics for the sake of it.

What’s the difference between bespoke and in-house training?

In-house means we deliver at your premises; it can be a standard course. Bespoke means the content itself is designed for you. Most bespoke programmes are delivered face-to-face, but they can also run virtually.

How much does bespoke training cost?

Every bespoke programme is different, so that’s a conversation. The cost depends on how many people, how many sessions and how much new material is needed. Tell us what you need and we’ll come back with a clear quote.

Do you provide support after the training?

Yes. Every programme includes structured follow-ups, many clients add one-to-one coaching for their managers, and train-the-trainer lets your own team sustain the work.

Do we own the materials?

We agree how you can use the materials as part of the project, including licences for your internal trainers if you choose train-the-trainer.
