The Short Answers

What is leadership coaching?

Leadership coaching is a series of one-to-one conversations that help a leader work through real challenges, build confidence and develop their own style. Unlike training, there’s no fixed syllabus: each session starts from what’s happening in your role right now.

How much does leadership coaching cost?

Leadership coaching is a premium, one-to-one service, so the cost depends on how many sessions you need and how often. We agree the shape of the programme with you at the start, so the cost is clear before you commit.

Is coaching done online or in person?

We coach online by default, which makes it easy to fit around a busy diary. In-person sessions are available on request anywhere in the UK, and some leaders mix the two.

What’s the difference between coaching and training?

Training teaches a group a shared set of skills. Coaching helps one person apply them to their own situation, with someone to think out loud with. Many organisations combine management training for the team with coaching for key individuals.

The Higher You Go, the Fewer People You Can Think Out Loud With.

The more senior your role, the more complex the challenges, the greater the responsibility, and the fewer opportunities you may have to openly explore your thinking. You are expected to have the answers, make difficult decisions, and provide direction to others.

But who do you turn to when you need to step back, challenge your thinking, or work through something that isn’t straightforward? Coaching provides that space, a confident, supportive, and challenging environment where you can explore issues openly, gain fresh perspectives, develop your thinking, and turn insights into meaningful action.

Leaders come to coaching to:

  • Step up confidently into a bigger role
  • Handle difficult people and conversations
  • Lead through change or pressure
  • Find their own style instead of copying someone else’s

What Coaching Can Help With

Every programme is built around the leader, but these are the themes that come up most.

Stepping Up

Moving into a first management role, or from manager to senior leader.

Difficult Conversations

Preparing for, and handling, the conversations you’d rather avoid.

Leading a Team

Getting the best from people, delegating and building trust.

Confidence and Presence

Leading with authority without losing who you are.

Performance and Goals

Clear goals for you and your team, and the habits to reach them.

Change and Pressure

Leading through uncertainty, restructures and busy periods.

Who It’s For: Executives, New Managers and Teams

Executives and senior leaders use coaching to think through strategy, people decisions and their own impact. New managers use it to build confidence quickly in a role they haven’t been trained for. Leadership teams use team coaching to work better together.

Coaching is also a natural follow-on to management training.

Team Coaching

Team coaching works with a leadership team together: how you make decisions, handle disagreement and hold each other to account. It’s especially useful after a restructure, a merger or a change of leader.

We agree the goals with the team at the start and review progress as we go. Tell us about your team and we’ll suggest an approach.

How a Coaching Programme Works

Simple, confidential and built around you.

  1. An Initial Conversation

We talk about what you want to get from coaching, so we both know it’s the right fit.

  2. Agree the Goals

We set clear goals and agree the number and rhythm of sessions, so the cost is clear from the start.

  3. Regular Sessions

Focused one-to-one sessions, online or in person, working on your real challenges and actions.

  4. Review

We review progress against your goals and decide together what comes next.

CLARITY

Leadership Coaching: Common Questions

How many coaching sessions do I need?

It depends on what you want to achieve. Some leaders need a few sessions around a specific challenge; others prefer a longer programme over several months. We agree the number at the start and review it as we go.

Can coaching sit alongside a management training programme?

Yes, and it often works best that way. Training gives a group of managers shared skills; coaching helps individuals put them into practice in their own role.

Is coaching confidential?

Yes. What you discuss stays between you and your coach. If your employer is paying, we agree up front what, if anything, is reported back, which is usually progress against the agreed goals.

Is your coaching accredited?

We don’t claim a coaching accreditation. Our coaching is practical: it’s built on real leadership and training experience and focused on changes you can see in your role and your team. If an accredited coach is a requirement for you, tell us and we’ll be straight about whether we’re the right fit.
